Colleges and universities are under attack in New York and nationwide. Grant funding has been cut. Research has been halted. International students are scared to come, and American students are finding it hard to afford the dream of higher education.
As a result, university administrations right now are making decisions from job cuts to increased workloads – and they’re making those decisions behind closed doors without input from the people who keep our colleges and universities running.
Then why should they be making unilateral decisions about your workload, your benefits, and whether you and your colleagues keep your jobs?
All responses to our 3-question survey will be kept confidential and no identifiable information will ever be shared without your permission.
We know what happens when programs shutter, colleges close, and budgets shrink: staff jobs go on the chopping block. And for those staff who remain, the workload increases even though the paycheck doesn’t.
It doesn’t have to be this way. With a union, you and your colleagues gain a legally protected seat at the table when decisions are being made about your job, your work, and your future.
Administrators can change an employee handbook on a whim, but they can't change your union contract.

“I have been working more than one person's job for quite a while. That’s the other thing that we're going to try and resolve is having positions re-filled once they're let go.”

Private university employees have the RIGHT to form a union. More than 140 employees at Nazareth University formed Nazareth United Professionals last year. Will you and your colleagues join them in voting “Union YES”?
NYSUT is the largest higher education union in the state, representing over 150 local unions of full-time and part-time faculty and staff at SUNY, CUNY, and private institutions.
